Could these two pretty young ladies be Sarah Elizabeth (Sallie MOORE Moore, wife of Sterling Moore) and her sister, Mary Emily MOORE who married Ziba HAZEN and was the mother of Chester and Dillard Hazen? They were both daughters of John Alexander MOORE, Andrew J. Moore's oldest son. They were Asa Moore's grandnieces.

Could this man be John Alexander Moore? John A. Moore died in 1867. I wonder if this photograph is consistent with those made prior to 1868? Some have suggested it might be another picture of Richard Moore, or one of his brothers, such as Jones (James Jones Moore) or Thom Jeff (Thomas Jefferson Moore). All of these men would have been John A. Moores's nephews. Does anyone know who this is?

This picture has a fascinating history. It was found among the possessions of Matilda Helena MOORE Stiles. Matilda Helena MOORE was born in 1815 in the area around Giles/Lincoln Co, TN, the daughter of ASA MOORE. This Asa Moore was born in VA ca 1788 and was married to Rebecca ????. Matilda Moore married Seaborn STILES and came to Texas with her family and lived and died in Milam Co. One of her children was named Asa Wilton Stiles. This picture was identified as the "Moores in Nacogdoches". How and why did Matilda have this picture? We do not even know for sure *which* Moore family in Nacogdoches these people belonged to. However, in my view, this is a picture of Sterling Price Moore and his cousin once removed, Sallie Moore, to whom he was married ca 1888. I think the two children in their laps are their first-born, Benjamin Franklin Moore, along with the next oldest, possibly Vivian.
The Asa Moore who was Matilda's father moved from Giles/Lincoln Co, TN to Missouri with most of the rest of his children.
